~☆~History~★~

History: Deep within the forests of Yukon, there lived a unique pack of Yukon Wolves. Notably the alpha pair, Fuzen and Kaulua. Their pack lived near Wolf Lake, where there is plentiful of water and food. As they are one of the wolf packs the humans are researching on, their pack was dubbed as the 'Journey Pack'. Fuzen welcomed any roaming wolves, male or female. Kaulua helped with the newcoming females that are pregnant when joining the pack. Both the alphas managed to expand their pack size from 7 to 15 excluding the upcoming pups. Soon enough, Kaulua too gave birth to her first litter of 5 pups. It was a celebration for the whole pack, Fuzen couldn't be happier for him and his mate. As the pups grew, Fuzen encouraged them to play with the other pups of the pack. The reason is to help his pups to grow up with friends so they don't think too highly of themselves. His strategy worked and soon enough, his pups had become fine young wolves. Particularly his third son, Akota, which had shown great leadership when he went hunting with his party. As time flows by, both Fuzen and Kaulua knew their time would soon end. Because of that, Fuzen announced that Akota is now Alpha of Journey Pack. A month after that, the former great alphas passed away peacefully in their sleep.

Akota was saddened by their passing, so did the pack and they buried them next to Wolf Lake. It was their pack's belief and tradition, whoever died will be buried by the lake. So their spirits can ride with the river that flows out of the lake, continuing down through other lakes and rivers before finally settling in the Bearing Sea where the spirits are transformed into stars in the night sky. Akota followed in his parents pawsteps and made the pack prosper. Then came Rivera, a dispersal female wolf from another wolf pack. Akota took an interest in her and tries to win her affection, which it did and she became the Alpha Female. The new pair continued the legacy of Akota's parents and a litter of four were born; Alayus, Sirius, Sabia and Ace. The same as with Fuzen, Akota let his pups social with the others in the pack. As they age, they took interest in many different things. Alayus in leadership, Sirius in knowledge, Sabia in medicine and Ace in defending the pack. The results were clear which one would be the next heir. Akota and Rivera both were proud as they had succeeded in passing down their bloodline to continue their tradition. Two years later, it's Akota's turn to take the path to the stars. Rivera died a few months later and joined in the journey.

Alayus takes on the title of Alpha, Sabia the medicine wolf, Ace the head guard. Sirius was going to be Beta of the pack but he declined, his reason was that he wanted to head out and explore what the wilderness has. Sirius wanted to experience all kinds of things, he loved to learn and know new things. His siblings protested at first but eventually they gave in. The whole pack bid Sirius good luck and farewell. As a lone wolf, Sirius learns many from different types of prey that was never found in his pack territory to new places he have never seen before. Along the way he met a fox named Alcatraz, he had fallen into a human's trap and was struggling to free himself. Feeling sorry for him Sirius managed to figure out how to remove the rope, thus freeing Alcatraz. They became friends quickly and soon they were travelling though mountains, plains and forests. He and Alcatraz both share the same thing in common, the desire to explore. One particular day, Sirius woke up not finding Alcatraz with him. Concerned for his close friend, Sirius went searching for him and it was not long before he found the fox. Apparently he had found himself a mate and decided to end his travels to be with his new mate. Understanding Alcatraz's reason, the two friends parted sadly and hoped that one day the two will meet up again.

Sirius continues his journey alone for a few months, then winter arrived. He was becoming a clever wolf, able to foil human's traps to get easy meals. His trip takes him to the foot of a mountain where on his left side was a tribe. There he noticed a group of children playing in an open space. A woman and a man were sitting nearby watching the children. Sirius decided to move on before getting caught, but snarling sounds stopped him in his tracks. The snarling sound was followed by the screams of the woman and children, Sirius debated with himself whether to check it out or not. In the end curiosity won and he turned around to see a pair of mountain lions. The felines advanced towards the Yukoners, the man tries to scare them off with his spear. One of the mountain lions distracted the man while the other aimed for the woman and children. Sirius knew they were in big trouble, so without any warning he burst out from his hiding place and placed himself between the second feline and the Yukoners. Surprised by Sirius' presence the feline snarled, Sirius growled and leaped forward to nip the feline before leaping back. He repeated this tactic until the mountain lions retreat. The man turned to Sirius and pointed his spear at him, wary that a wolf might attack instead. Sirius made no motion to do anything, he just stared into the man's eyes. After a few moments, the man reaches into his sack and tossed a chunk of meat at Sirius. Sirius took it as a gift and ate the meat, seeing their meeting had become neutral Sirius turns back into the forest.

Sirius stayed in that forest for a few days to save enough strength to travel the mountains that are blocking him. He would occasionally walk pass the tribe, his help defending the children had earned some respect from the tribesmen. There he also befriended a Tamaskan dog from the tribe named Zodiak. They would exchange a few words at the dead of night, talking about the wilderness. When it was time to continue his journey, Zodiak thanked him once more for saving his master. Thus Sirius makes his way up and down the mountains where he faced with two wolf brothers, Rowlin and Hotaru and their friend, Rigel. They too were travelling through the same route as he does so they decided to stick together for a while. It wasn't long for Sirius warms up close to the three wolves, so close that he might even consider Rowlin and Hotaru his real brothers. So Sirius, Rowlin and Hotaru made oaths to the stars and they became sworn wolf blood brothers. As for Rigel, it was love at first sight for her and Sirius. Soon Rigel gave birth to his first litter of pups; Anubis, Procyon and Isis. Though it was difficult for four wolves to care for three newborn pups but they were eager to do so.

Two years had passed since Sirius started his journey, he had learned so much, made many friends along the way, even two sworn wolf blood brothers and finally meeting his soul mate now with his three sons. He missed his siblings and birth pack very much. One night, he noticed a star shooting across the sky as if it was guiding him somewhere. Remembering his family's tradition, if your travelling and see a shooting star it means the spirits are telling you to come home. Sensing that the spirits of his ancestors are calling, he raced towards Rowlin, Hotaru and Rigel and told them that his pack needs him. His sons were already five months old but they cannot travel far so the adults took turns in carrying the pups. Sirius reached home just as winter ended, meaning he is now 5 years old.

The sight of his pack devastated him, many are wounded heavily. What had happened during his absence? Apparently a threat has been made to Journey Pack, it was from a neighboring pack that had recently been relocated here by the humans. For Alayus, they preferred to resolve problem through reason and not violence. But it was unsuccessful, so for the first time ever that Journey Pack would be at war with another. A week after the rival pack strikes, it seems easy as their rivals were of another subspecies and Yukon wolves were larger. But as for number, Alayus' pack was at a disadvantage. The fight was long and hard, in the end Journey Pack was victorious. But it brought both relief and worry, with their territory secured and safe, but the wolves were heavily wounded. Sabia and her helpers tried their hardest to heal and mend the broken wolves. Ace was wounded too but pushed himself to hunt with some others with injuries that are not as serious. Some were too late to save, some were slowly recovering, Alayus could be saved also but he refused to eat at all. He sacrificed his own hunger for the sake of his pack's recovery, much to Sabia's disagreement. Sabia feared the worst for her brother. Sabia and Ace watched helplessly as Alayus became thinner and thinner each day, they knew that their time with him was running out.

By the time Sirius returned home Alayus could no longer move his limbs, only the movement of his ears, eyes and chest could prove that he was still alive. As the stars came out that night, the four reunited siblings would relax next to each other sharing wonderful memories of their lives, Sirius' tale of his journey and meeting Rigel and Sirius' three sons. Alayus would speak in his already weak voice just to enjoy the last moments of his life with them. They didn't sleep at all that night, and just as the sun comes up, Alayus closes his eyes and takes a last whiff of Sirius, Sabia and Ace before bidding a final farewell to them. Sirius, Sabia and Ace grieved other the lost of their brother. They personally buried Alayus, sending him off with mournful howls. His heroic sacrifice managed to save a few wolves who needed it. Sirius viewed that Alayus was so valuable that his one life could be exchanged for a few others.

Sirius assumed the role of Alpha since Alayus didn't have a mate or any pups. He proved to be a leader as great as Alayus, or even his grandfather, Fuzen. One day, Ace was with a patrol party scouting the borders of their territory when they came across a bear. Feeling threatened, one of the wolves attacked the bear. The bear became agitated and swung his paw at the wolf. Ace quickly dove in, pushing the wolf out of the way. Unfortunately, he didn't dodge in time and took full brunt of the hit. Ace was sent tumbling and collided with a tree, with the other wolves distracted the bear escaped. As he laid there dying, Ace summons up enough strength to tell the wolves to inform Sirius. One of the wolves ran back to the pack as if his life depended on it. Once Sirius and Sabia received the news, they hurried over to where their younger brother was. But they were too late, Ace had already died when they arrived. Sabia, being the only sister wept heavily where as Sirius stood there in silence. Ace was buried and sent off just like Alayus.

The sudden tragedy took a toll on Sabia, she refused to eat or sleep. Sirius knows where this is going to lead and was having none of it. He had already lost his two brothers and he was not going to let his only sister have the same fate. Sirius reasons with Sabia, saying how their two deceased brothers wouldn't want her to be the same, how much the pack needs their experienced healer and he himself needs his sister the most. Sirius succeeds in leading his sister away from another heartbreaking end. A few months later good news was spread throughout the pack, Rigel had given birth to a second litter of pups. This time all of them are daughters; Siren, Echo and Harmony. Anubis, Procyon and Isis were happy to have new siblings around, same as with Sirius. Then something had interested Sirius' three sons, though they love their pack but they want to go and explore the world themselves. Seeing that his sons had inherited his yearn to go out and see new places, he relentlessly agreed to let them go. Though saddened to leave at such a time, but they promised to return one day just like their father and continue on with the family traditions. Sirius was proud of his daughters, except for the eldest one, Siren. Notably the she-wolf had been bullying the youngest one, Harmony. This was not a good sign for Sirius, for she should be caring like the middle one, Echo.

As time flies by Sirius, Sabia, Rigel, Rowlin and Hotaru were getting quite old, Rigel's aging was more visible of the five. Sirius knew of the signs when a wolf's time is near it's end, he had observed it from his parents before as a youngling. He was always by Rigel's side, spending all the time left he had with her. Rigel knew of this too and accepts it calmly since it was the way of life. The next day Rigel could no longer be awakened, her spirit had already gone on the river path to the stars. Sirius shed tears at the lost of his beloved mate, but at least their last moments together will be cherished forever. The passing of Rigel meant to Sirius that it was time to step down as Alpha and pass on the title to his offsprings. Since his sons have not returned yet, he decides to pass on the leadership to one of his daughters. His daughters had just reached 2 years of age, a bit young to be an Alpha but he has his confidence in them. Sirius thought long and hard about choosing the next heir. The day came where Sirius announced that he resigns as Journey Pack's Alpha, and he appoints Harmony as the new Alpha.

The cheers were interrupted by the angry howl of Siren. She challenged her sister for the right to lead on the spot. The wolves were stunned at the remark, no one in this pack had ever gone against the Alpha before. Sirius made no motion to stop the fight, he encourages his youngest daughter to make her own choice. Feeling a surge of energy flowing through her, Harmony accepts Siren's challenge and the fight begins. Blinded by anger and jealousy, Siren underestimated her sister and was defeated thoroughly. Sirius advances towards Siren and waits for her reaction, the respond he received was reliving. Siren realized how horrible she had been and apologizes to the whole pack. Sirius softly forgives her and wishes for her to work together with her sisters as one. Harmony however speaks up that she is not yet ready to be Alpha so be passes on the title to Rowlin.

Echo however wishes to go out and travel to new places just like her brothers did. Hearing her decision ignites an old spark within Sirius, he had been travelling for half of his life and now he is at his golden age. He thought it might be worthwhile to tag along with Echo to see the wilderness for one last time. But Sabia was having none of it, she protests on letting her old brother go again. Rowlin, Hotaru, Siren, Harmony and the rest of the pack thought of the same thing. Sirius explains that he had once made promises to a few friends he had met in his previous travels. Now he wishes to fulfill them so when his time comes, he can join his family and ancestors in the night sky without any regret. With that Sirius sets off once again, this time he has his daughter to accompany him. Using the route he had used before, he showed Echo everything he learned out here. When he reached the forest where he parted with Alcatraz the fox, Sirius notices a pair of foxes that are the splitting image of Alcatraz. He knew that his friend was no longer since a fox's lifespan is much shorter and a wolf's. So he asked the pair if they are related to Alcatraz, they nodded and replied that they are his offsprings.

The foxes told Sirius that Alcatraz was very grateful to have met him, if Sirius weren't to come across him he would have been died by the hands of humans. They explained that they remain here is because their father wanted Sirius to receive this message, now their task was fulfill the pair gave Sirius a 'Thank You'. After that they turned and disappeared into the bushes never to be seen again. Touched by his old friend's effort knowing that he would never live long enough to meet him again, Sirius and Echo sends memorable howls in hopes somewhere up there Alcatraz will hear it. Sirius was about to continue when Echo admits to her father that she wishes to go home. Puzzled by this, Sirius asked for a reason. Echo answers that even though travelling was a fun experience, she loved spending her time within the pack more. Sirius smiled at her and nodded, the two turned around and went back home.

Once they returned to Journey Pack, they were welcomed warmly by every member. Months later, Echo had her first litter with her mate. A litter of five; Ramza, Jalay, Altair, Aurora and Song. It was a joyous moment for Sirius, his first litter of grandchildren. The old wolf's dreams had been fulfilled, seeing that the pack's tradition had been passed down successfully yet again to another generation. Sirius had seen what he wishes to see, now he can leave with full confidence that Journey Pack will live on. Sirius bid his farewell to his children, grandchildren, Rowlin and Hotaru. Sabia tried one more time to change Sirius' mind, but she knows the answer will be the same. She shed tears for her brother, knowing that they will never see each other again. Once Sirius leaves, he will never return here again. Sirius also shed tears for his sister as this will the last time they will ever see each other again. Moved by the unbreakable bond that their Alpha's family have, the whole pack wept for their former Alpha.

As Sirius turns and walks away from Journey Pack, every wolf howled all their might as if sending part of them to follow Sirius. When the old wolf reached the border of the pack's territory, he released a memorable howl before stepping out of his birth pack's territory forever. It was heartbreaking to leave the home and beliefs that he loved so deeply. The memories he had with them will always burn within his mind and heart. The old wolf travelled through he same route as he always had. Stopping by the forest where he last saw Alcatraz, howling to let the fox's spirit know of his presence. He moved on and reached the tribe where he saved the humans' children from mountain lions. He sees a familiar face on four legs, it was Zodiak. Same as himself, the dog had aged as well. Zodiak caught the scent of Sirius, his head spun around quickly. Upon seeing the wolf who helped his master, the elder dog wagged his tail slowly and bark-howled. His call had alerted the tribesmen, as the humans gaze upon Sirius, the one he had help recognized Sirius immediately. The old wolf gave howl of hello to the tribesmen, then vanishing from their sight forever. Zodiak too knows that this was their last meeting, the two elderly canines did not regret meeting each other and never will be, after all they are related to each other by a faint bloodline. Finally Sirius had finished his travelling route, for now he just relies on his instinct and see where it takes him.

Ranks

Night Sky ~ Leaders Of Journey Pack. Like the night sky holding the stars and moon together, together as one. They keep order among the wolves of the pack, ensuring that they will be like the united night sky.

Blue Moon ~ Second-In-Command. Similar to the moon, they keep watch over the stars. Smaller than the Night Sky yet bigger than the Stars, they help their leaders in maintaining peace over the pack.

Northern Lights ~ Elders. Wolves who have lived to their golden ages and wishes to spend their last moments in peace. Highly respected by the entire pack for their knowledge and experience. They portray the colorful lights of the North, for the pack is grateful of their presence just like the beautiful Aurora Borealis.

Southern Lights ~ A special rank that exists in the ranks of Journey Pack. These are wolves that possess a unique voice, different from others and are soothing to hear. They sing to their ancestors above, calling them when ceremonies or rituals are held within the pack. Similar to the Northern Lights, yet very rare as only a few wolves are able to control their vocals.

Aligning Stars : - What makes a constellation is the unity of the stars. Wolves under this category work together as one under the watch of the Night Sky, Blue Moon, Northern Lights and Southern Lights. Ensuring the entire pack survives on enough food, education, safety and peace.
Watcher ~ Protectors of the pack. They fight and defend the pack as Warriors or Guards.
Seeker ~ Pack Hunters. They hunt for food either in small groups or alone. Flushers and Trappers belong in this category.
Navigator ~ Wolves that can navigate through any terrain and are responsible in creating mazes or tunnels that help confuse the enemies from nearing their camp. Diggers and Trackers are the sub-ranks.
Healer ~ Known as wolves with excellent knowledge in herbs. They play an important role to keep the pack lively and healthy. The sub-ranks are Gatherers and Herbalist.
Shaman ~ Wolves who vow themselves to be pure of heart for the present and future generations. They teach growing wolves in the sacred traditions and cultures of Journey Pack. Rituals are preformed by these holy wolves. Young adult wolves get to choose their wanted ranks after being taught well. Sub-ranks availabe are Priests and Teachers.
Keeper ~ Wolves who wish to assist the pack in every way, those belonging in this rank don't have a specific duty. They help the other ranks whenever they needed extra paws. All pups start their journey of life from this rank, where the Keepers teach them basics of fighting, hunting as well as herbs. Then the pups are given the Keeper's Test, those who pass will move on to the Shamans. No sub-ranks are present in this category.
