ITU KALECH

¤ [ new & accepting ] ¤ [ literate - literate+] ¤ [ linear - structured ] ¤

A b o u t

¤ Itu Kalech is a linear-structured canine roleplay with a simple look and a mellow atmosphere. It is set in a fictional region in southern Macedonia, where life is plentiful yet difficult, as nature's harsh ways can easily become a threat to one's survival within it. This rolelplay was created to manifest creativity in a relaxed, slow-paced environment, and also to focus on relationship dynamics, how characters interact with one another, and mentally develop over time. Instead of having a glorious plot, Renholdër is more or less meant to be a cooperative fiction. The will to survive, however, is a distinct, deep-rooted, and pressing force that can either piece the characters together or tear them apart.

¤ Separated into two packs, Celebdil and Adibil, they feud with each other almost constantly, throwing names and hateful comments almost everyday at each other, thus leaving them in a rage at each other at the end of the day. Years ago, these two packs were once alliances, helping each other with their needs and wants, but that all ended once they were attacked, both by a wolf from each of the packs. The had a great fight. Blood was shed, scars were healed over time, and bonds were broken.

¤ The focus of Itu Kalech is more on character interactions. Rather than exploring the world and fighting dragons, characters usually stay in one place with each other, form a pack, or remain a loner, and the interesting writing comes from how they interact with others and develop. Characters can make friends and ascend in the hierarchy. Sometimes things go horribly wrong and they even have to drastically harm or betray one another. At Itu Kalech, we've added some of nature to the mix to encourage bad things to happen, because, let's face it, the terrible things are one of the main things that make life most interesting!

¤ The region Itu Kalech is based in is a fictional place located in a remote area of southern Norway, somewhere near Sognefjord. The roleplay's realms stretch many miles, it's central area set at the base of a respectively large mountain dubbed the Threshold. The land here is untamed and unforgiving, dominated by nature, the harsh seasons, and land-forms that relentlessly reign there. The climate is temperate and wet. Winters are cold and respectively snowy and often feels icier due to the wet climate combined with fierce winds. Wolves are masters of survival, but life here is not easy even for the strongest of creatures.

¤ Since you're amazing and read all of that, instead of thinking TL;DR in whatever synonymous form it happened to manifest in your thoughts, we would absolutely love for you to come write with us! We greatly enjoy having a small, friendly community to enjoy the magic of writing about characters, how they interact, and developing over time. Come join!

KOMAN
¤ The Koman has the ultimate authority over each and every unit and individual within the pack. Typically, they are the ones who pass down orders, essentially the behind-the-scenes director of everything that goes on. They wield the most strength, are the wisest where it is most needed, and most importantly, carry the heaviest and yet most fulfilling burden upon their shoulders. For this, they require respect from the whole of the pack, though reprimands for discourtesy may vary depending on the canine upholding this title. A Koman may greet with a smile or rule with an iron paw, but no matter how cruel the order, a subordinate must abide their laws. The have the ability to promote and demote, to welcome and exile, and have the absolute word over the other units.

VTORIOT
¤ Members of the Vtoriot are the right paw to the Koman(s) and, though they do not carry as much power, are to be addressed with as much respect as their leaders. They are the first to take a Koman's position if they are ever absent, for they know their pack's rules and morals—forwards and backwards—by heart. Their responsibilities are relatively versatile, as even a Vtoriot may assign discipline and orders, but they may not go so far as to banish or demote a wolf without permission as well as a solid reason to do so. They provide supplementary and additional advice and support to the Koman(s), ensure safety and well-being of the pack, and are counted on to give out orders when the Tribunes aren't present.

TRETO
¤ Treto are, more or less, the left paw to the Koman, though they have a much more limited range of authority than both the Koman and . They are chosen from the most excelling among the units, for this rank requires the one with the most knowledge and skill. They assist both Koman and Vtoriot with training-inspired Apprentices and are almost always found by their regals' sides. On occasion, Treto are seen as their assigned unit's representative in important discussions, although this is not always the case. It is, most importantly, the Tretos' responsibility to accompany all their assigned unit's duties and provide them as much knowledge and protection from outside forces as they can muster.

ISCELITEL
¤ The usually two or three Iscelitel of the pack are healers of all sorts, possessing a very rare and unique talent to mend all that may ail. They provide an important attribute to the canines their Komans(s) watch over and are, arguably, incredibly influential to the survival of the entire pack. Therefore, they have the right to the same level of respect as a Treto. Their duties include examining, diagnosing, and treating patients who have been harmed. They apply medical knowledge and skills to the diagnosis, prevention, and management of injuries. They have many ways of actually healing their fellow pack-mates from their wounds, mostly through herbs, berries, mixtures, and poultices. They usually have their own private area where they sleep, store herbs, and treat wounded or sick individuals. However, Iscelitel are not just required to help others with physical wounds. They entitled to mentor and share with others on how to deal with mentally or emotional troubles as well, create a sense of balance for others, and generally provide guidance and direction for those in need. They specialize in helping others with their inner-most problems, and help find solutions. These select few members of the pack are usually amazing secret keepers, as they know many, if not all, and have yet to tell a soul. Skilled at mending wounds both physical and within, Iscelitel provide guidance to not just the members of the pack, but their regal persons as well.

STARATEL
¤ Staratel are the thick, strong, and lean canines that guard the territory and protect the pack that live within it. They patrol the length of the territory's border with simply one mission in mind: protect and secure the territory from outer forces. They are also the main fighting force of the pack and have plentiful knowledge in heavy combat and are engaged or experienced in actual warfare. Though they are not a necessarily high rank, their unusually slippery wit and clever antics are more useful than not and are certainty noticed, for anything and everything they uncover on their rounds must be reported to the Koman them self. Staratels, like Tretos, are chosen from the Auxiliary, but do not have nearly as much authority as them. They, the Lovec, and Pomošnik are equal, as both are purely for serving the pack.

LOVEC
¤ The Lovecs are the lithe, quick wolves of the pack who can jump high to navigate through the forest, who are fast enough to snatch a rabbit, and are strong enough to take down a wild boar. Lovecs are required to do only one thing: catch prey and track down Novis. They use a variety of traits such as stealth and surprise along with camouflage to catch their food. It is their responsibility to feed, especially for the canines nursing pups, and the young and old. Normally Lovecs travel in teams to take down the larger prey such as deer or mountain goats, and during these parties a Staratel or two often accompany them to spot and take care of trouble that the Lovec might not be able to handle.

POMOSNIK
¤ The Pomošnik make up the bulk force of the pack, and though they are the 'base' rank, their presence is most certainly imperative to the forest. They are the errand-runners, the side-kicks, and the assistants, for there is always strength in numbers. These canines are fundamentally ordinary individuals who not really members of any specific unit, and are also commonly found with the pregnant mothers, pups, and running errands for the Iscelitel.

APPRENTICE
¤ Apprentices are in no way unworthy, but are either too young to take on the duties of a higher ranking position, or are simply too inexperienced for much else and want to change that. Pups earn this title at the age of two months. They are to be trained by the Legate of the unit they are training for, as well as the Council, until they have reached adult age or can show experience necessary for a higher rank. While their agenda would usually say "train" in a continuous, unchanging list, the duties of these canines also may include helping those in the unit they're preparing to join or partaking assessments.

NOVI
¤ Until a wolf has been accepted into the pack, they roam the lands as Novis, or 'loners'. They have little to no privileges and are owed absolutely no authority and little respect from pack members until their skills are deemed worthy by the Treto(s), Vtoriot members, and Komans. If hunting or trespassing on marked territory, they must be extremely wary, as the Lovecs and Staratels are highly trained in what they do: capture the loners, and bring them to the Koman and Vtoriot where they can decide if they are worthy or not. And if not, discipline is imminent, or at least possible. Everyone starts off as a Novi until they form a pack.

IME
¤ The Ime canines are those who have either committed crimes so horrid and disturbing that not only the Koman removes them from their rank within their pack, but banishes them completely, or were either stupid or unlucky enough to get within reach of disease or insanity's grasp. The mentally sound yet twisted half are sure to stay away from the pack's border, for if they are seen astray it is punishable by severe injury. The other half usually roam the lands mindlessly, some gone rabid, some having contracted an unknown mental illness, mingling in the outer realms, but have been known to venture to close for comfort.
